En ningún concierto de los Beatles se logró escuchar la canción como en el disco, John hacia su mejor esfuerzo, pero tenia la instrucción de cuidar su garganta y no de sonar exactamente igual. Se dice que la mejor presentación de Twist and shout, fue frente a la reina en un teatro, fue su ultima canción del repertorio y John estaba tan cansado que incluso pensó en omitirla, pero dado a la presencia de la realeza, hizo un ultimo esfuerzo, comenzó con una pequeña broma para el publico, que fue muy controversial, diciendo, “Para el siguiente numero, les pido su ayuda; la gente que está en los asientos más baratos puede aplaudir, el resto puede hacer sonar sus joyas”, la Reyna sonrió y se dispuso a disfrutar la canción. El público e incluso sus compañeros de la agrupación quedaron sorprendidos al ver que John se escuchaba prácticamente igual que el día que la grabaron.
